Many of you have written to say  you would like to get to know one another. With 685 (and counting) members on our Displaced Journalists Facebook page, that’s not easy.

I commend those of you who’ve written about yourselves: Melanie Kolden, Mark Mayfield, Britt Conley, Jules Older (no relation), and Geveryl Robinson. That’s a good start. After all, this is a community for sharing and brainstorming. It makes sense to know who’s who.

Do you have a commentary piece that might help displaced journalists get back on track? If you’re employed, give us your advice. If you’re “displaced,” we’d like to hear your ideas and your personal story: How are you coping in terms of ego and finances? Do you have a strategy to share for making money as a freelancer or blogger? Have you started a new career or found a way to boost your tech skills so you can get back in the game? Are you hoping to start a new venture and need partners? Use the form below to send me a pitch or a finished story and photo.

Or you may email me directly at susan@displacedjournalists.com.

Displaced Journalists is a community – our community – where we find common ground, where we can begin to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and get on with our lives and livelihoods. [more]
